SOCI1150: Introductions to Women's and Gender Studies

This course introduces students to the interdisciplinary field of Women's and Gender Studies. Through readings, discussions and media we will explore the social, political, economic, and cultural dimensions of gender and examine the intersections of race, class, sexuality, and nationality. We will investigate how gender shapes individual lives and influences broader social structures. This course encourages students to think critically about power, identity, and justice and offers tools for understanding and challenging inequities in our communities and beyond.
