The Office of Student Accessibility Services is the official contact for students with disabilities who request academic support and accommodations. Students with documented physical, learning, or psychological disabilities have access to a variety of services including, but not limited to, extended time, textbooks in audio format, note-taking assistance, and large print materials. The Accessibility Services Office is located within the Counseling Office in the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center.
Students must self-identify with Accessibility Services and may provide documentation of their disability from an appropriately credentialed professional (i.e., physician, psychologist, educational diagnostician, or other qualified provider). Eligibility for services is based on the effects/limitations and suggestions for reasonable accommodations, and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504.
Consultation concerning eligibility and services is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to stop by the office or call to make an appointment to discuss services as soon as possible to allow sufficient time to plan for accommodations.
